Katie Carter is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive healthcare for women throughout every stage of life. As an AANP-certified nurse practitioner, she specializes in women’s health by combining primary care and gynecologic services to help patients achieve their healthiest, happiest lives through personalized, evidence-based care.
Katie earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University before completing her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she gained extensive experience as a registered nurse in critical care, trauma, and post-anesthesia recovery, building a strong clinical foundation that continues to shape her patient-centered approach.
Before joining Montgomery Women’s Health Associates, Katie also served internationally as a Director of Nursing for a nonprofit organization, where she had the privilege of helping expand access to healthcare in underserved communities. Those experiences reinforced her passion for serving others and deepened her appreciation for compassionate, relationship-focused medicine.
Since joining Montgomery Women’s Health Associates in 2015, Katie has been honored to care for women across every season of life. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with her patients and empowering them through education, preventive care, and individualized treatment plans. Whether providing annual wellness exams, managing chronic conditions, addressing gynecologic concerns, or supporting women through life’s many transitions, Katie strives to ensure every patient feels heard, valued, and cared for.
